Our farming business, J.V. McCourt & son has been shortlisted as one of three finalists in the Farmers Weekly Local Food Farmer of the Year Award 2010 sponsored by Asda.

We were nominated by MUTTON RENAISSANCE in recognition of the work we do in helping mutton become recognised as a regular part of our cooking repertoire.

In May we won the class for Best British Apple Pie in the British Pie Awards for our Northfield Farm Bramley & Cox Apple Pie, they are available in various sizes in our farm shop or to order. We also won Gold awards for our 2lb hand -raised Melton Mowbray Pork Pie & our Chicken & Ham Pie.

Customers can order from us on-line. This is a simple process, but please remember that our's is a bespoke product, as opposed, for example, to a more commodity type product such as a book or a household appliance. There seems to be an almost infinite variety of ways in which customers would like us to butcher their meat, be it thickness of a steak, number of ribs in a joint or variation in individual appetites when ordering by the traditional measure of "to feed 6 people".

Please feel free to contact us in the way which suits you best, be it Phone, Email, or by ordering On-Line. That personal service is an essential part of the Northfield offer.

Metric or Imperial

We all know how contentious it has been in recent years to accommodate those customers who wish to exercise their right to continue to order in Imperial or as some of you like to call it, "old money", as opposed to in Metric. We even have many customers who order certain products in Pounds and others in Kilos. We call those "Bilingual". Imagine what it can be like when some ask for a "lump" of this or that!

Payment

Although you put your credit card details into our secure on-line system when you order, we will not deduct the final amount until we have made up your order, just before it is despatched from here.
