All our Norfolk black and bronze turkeys are dry-plucked by hand and hung for 14 days in the traditional way to guarantee a rich tasting, succulent meat.

The Norfolk Black turkey is one of the original turkey breeds. It’s statuesque stature and deep black plummage made it very desirable when turkeys were first imported into Europe from the Americas and Mexico. The Norfolk Black is widely regarded as one of the oldest turkey breeds. It is a slightly slower growing bird, but has a fantastic flavour that is slightly gamey to taste. It’s absolutely delicious cold and hot but if you enjoy cold turkey and chutneys on Boxing Day then this turkey is a winner every time due to its rich natural flavour. A truly unbeatable natural product full of taste and quality.

The Bronze turkey was bred out of the Norfolk Black and has a mellow succulent taste which really rattles the taste buds. It has a broad breast will give you plenty of succulent white breast meat. We can guarantee that Godwick bronze turkeys, provided that they are cooked properly, will be succulent and moist meat, as they are allowed to age naturally and so develop a natural finish. This gives them a small layer of fat covering which when cooked permeates through the bird, giving it a moist flavoursome taste.

    Great service from helpful staff. Very understanding when we were forced to reduce the order by 50 % because of Covid-19 restrictions. Also, a first class bird. Thank you. The freezer is full at the moment, but my next order will be for rib of beef, once I have reduced the stock. Cannot comment on either mince or burgers – been eating up the cold turkey!!

    The turkey was delicious! Excellent quality. But some confusion over cost and weight. When I collected the turkey, they weighed it. It was 5.2kg and the ticket cost was about £67 from memory. Why was I charged £83.70? Surely the difference in weight get reimbursed? This wasn’t clear at the time or purchase in advance.

    Couldn’t ask for a better Turkey for size 5-6kg, and flavour- the Rosemary sprig was a nice touch. Only the price of £83.70, seems a little steep but that is only my opinion and, I suppose you get what you pay for: it won’t stop me from going back next year. Niki Brown and her Dad are just the best customer service team one could ask for so, 5* for them.

    No issues with the turkey although it was not the cheapest. Poor customer service involved chasing for payment before it was due (despite offering to pay a deposit) and this means I shall not be returning … even for 10% off!

    We actually had the cockerel rather than turkey. We changed our mind. Customer service over the phone was excellent. The ‘ big chicken’ was fabulous and and definitely not just for Christmas. It has a robust flavour and doesn’t dry out. Produced superb stock.
