We sell this delicious product daily at Borough Market in our world-renowned Cooked Salt Beef on Rye sandwiches or Hot Salt Beef Bagels. Slathered with English Mustard and sweet dill pickles, they really are the mutt’s n***s! Photos of these beauties are much shared on Instagram and other social media platforms.
Did you know that you can also buy joints of this glorious cooked product to enjoy at home? Usually sold in 500g joints (other sizes available to order from your favourite mail-order butcher – please just call or email!) Our cooked salt beef can be served hot or cold, sliced thinly or in chunks, in sandwiches, with potatoes, as a corned beef hash.
We dry cure our amazing grass-fed beef silversides and briskets in a mixture of salts, peppers and sugar for up to 6 weeks, before slow cooking the joints with onions, spices and bay leaves. It is a slow process, but we believe very much worth the effort and time. Try cooking this yourself!
