Barnsley Chops are named after the town of Barnsley in glorious North Yorkshire – and the people of Barnsley obviously know much about fabulous cuts of meat, but is also known as the Double Loin Chop. Our Single Loin Chops are also available online.
You won’t find these in your supermarkets. You need to come to your local butcher, or order from your favourite online butcher, to ensure you get your hands on this super-tender, juiciest, trencherman’s double loin and filet of traditional free-range lamb. Grill or fry for delicious, crispy fat surrounding a wonderful nugget of tender lamb.
We can cut them thickly (recommended) or thinly (although why not for a breakfast chop?!). We believe that they were originally probably cut from mutton or hoggett, to give a good chunky, claret coloured, flavoursome chop.
