Our original sausage. We used to call it pork & herb. It was based on a recipe from Mrs. Beeton’s original book of household management.
Many customers used to tell us it tasted a lot like a Lincolnshire Sausage. When we checked, we found that indeed, we were making a Lincolnshire Sausage – really good pork, with a little bit of rusk to hold the juices and flavours inside the skin while the sausage cooks, seasoned with pepper, sage, salt and a few extra secret ingredients to make the Lincolnshire sausage specific to Northfield Farm!
It is astonishing the alchemy you can achieve with delicious free range pork, a few added ingredients and a bit of love. We sell our sausages in multiples of 1 – from 1 – 10,001, although we would ask for a bit of forward warning if you want a huge quantity for a party, barbeque, special event or fundraiser!
We use this fabulous sausagemeat in our Chipolata sausages, in our cocktail sausages, in our pigs in blankets and in our loose sausagemeat. Do buy from your favourite local butcher, or order online for mail order or local delivery.
